« Les voyageurs« , une série de sculptures surréalistes de l’artiste français Bruno Catalano, dont une dizaine ont été installées pendant le mois de septembre dans les rues de Marseille dans le cadre de la Capitale Européenne de la Culture 2013. Les Voyageurs, by French artist Bruno Catalano, in Marseilles, France is a sculpture meant to evoke memories and parts of themselves that every traveler inevitably leaves behind when they leave home for a new shore.

Located in Marseille, France – Frances says “‘I have travelled a lot and I left Morocco when I was 12 years old. I felt that a part of me was gone and will never come back.

‘From years of being a sailor, I was always leaving different countries and places each time and it’s a process that we all go through.”

In 2004, one of his works – a representation of Cyrano – was deteriorated. The incident led the artist to dig and scoop out its trunk. His new sculptures, then turned quickly experienced immediate success.

A year later, Bruno Catalano exhibited his works in the Parisian gallery Médicis and in international galleries Bartoux. His “travelers” did not fail to touch a large audience.

Currently, Bruno Catalano and his works are internationally recognised. His works are exhibited worldwide, from China to Belgium, via Spain, the US and Switzerland.
