The sculptures have been installed within pure nature, gardens of Marseille and between medieval architectural landscapes. How beautiful is the contrast between such modern statuettes within different and complementary backdrops? Each environment adds a touch of history and vibrancy to the figures, which can completely alter the essence of the sculptures in such an ingenuous manner.
above you can see the familiar face of Van Gogh! How cool!!

In search of missing pieces
I’ve always loved sculpture and bronzes, so I was blown away when I came across the work of French artist Bruno Catalano. His work in the set ‘In search of missing pieces‘, plays on our ability to visualise the whole object even when we are presented with only part.
For me this is amazing creativity and more. Not only does the work have visual impact, but the viewer is able to create their own idea of a story behind the work, to imagine what the missing piece might be. I particularly love the sculpture by the ocean – where the location all adds to the richness of the work.
certain dramatic effect that follows them and what is also incredible is the way they are posing, sometimes making you wonder how they can stand up with such emptiness mostly in the middle of their bodies.
Let us know what you think about Bruno’s work fellow lazy penguins!
Here is probably his most impressive statue. This voyager who just appears to be floating in midair from his chest up.
